Induction Generator

Where slow moving renewable energy projects become feasible to produce grid-tied electricity

No gearbox, No inverter, No battery bank needed, very high efficient conversion rate at only portion of the cost.

Both hydro and aero renewable energy are everywhere, the problem are not the lacking of sources waited to be harnessed but integrating, mixing it with then backbone of our civilization, the power grid.

As of today technology, at any angle one turns, it carries the biggest cost; the slower RPM the device turns the increasing of that cost therefore slow turning devices are feasibly impractical causing countless number of projects shelved to wait for a solution.

Available turbine can use this technology to reduce as much of 50% cost and reduce the lead delivery time.

Neo-Aerodynamic proudly announces its obtain of a patent pending technology enabling slow motion device such as wind, hydro turbine to directly upload whatever even how large or how small the power it harvest to the power gird without loss during mechanical transmission

Our technology has the following benefits:

- Low cost:

- Low power loss - the controller board consume about 10 watt on top of industry standard of more then 94%.

- For that slow speed the bearing of the motor/generator is considered maintenance free.

- Enabling slow motion devices (water wheel, Savonious turbine, windmill) to contribute to the grid at low cost.

-No expensive large ratio gearbox, no expensive large number of poles generator, no battery and no grid-tied inverter needed

- For propeller type turbine: No no need to control the pitch. Support much wider the spectrum of wind speed. The tower can be much lighter since its does not need much heavier gearbox or slow speed DC generator.

- Installation as simple as have it plugged into an outlet.

Some drawbacks:.

- Only work as grid tie system. Can not be used as stand alone generator.

- If you need to to use the generator to your private grid; then your AC should be a sin wave AC or close.

- The generator is consuming the energy from the grid when your turbine stop; nothing to drive the generator.

Some note about the pictures and our prototype.

    - We reconfigure (we do not rewind) a Lesson's squirrel case three phase 7-1/2 HP  (1740 RPM) and connect to our controller and run it as grid tie single phase generator.

    - The Picture 1 shows the simplest controller (direct wired no CPU) where it generates grid tie power from 1 to 120 RPM The sweet spot; when the generator is the most effective; is close to 120 . Other hard wired configuration  can change/set the sweet spot to as low as 36.

    - Other CPU base controller has  following features:

            (i) 2 minutes delay when the power is restored

            (ii) Restart  if the AC goes out of sync

            (iii) Immediately stop upon power outage.

            (iv) Dynamically change the sweet spot to maximize the efficiency (optional).
